Surah As Saffat Ayat 1-2 Translation Tafseer

Para 23 - وَ مَا لِیَ

سورة الصفت

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

37.1-2

وَ الصّٰٓفّٰتِ صَفًّاۙ (1) فَالزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجْرًاۙ (2)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

By those who have made orderly rows. [1] Then by those who impel with force. [1]

Commentary

[1]

“Those who have made orderly rows” refers to the angels who make rows like those in prayer and await the command of their Lord. Alternatively, it could refer to the scholars and pious people who make rows for prayer and remain occupied in worship. It could also refer to warriors who form rows in the way of Allah Almighty and engage with hostile forces.

[2]

“Those who impel with force” refers to angels appointed to manage the movement of the clouds. It could also refer to the scholars who, in accordance with the nature of the topic, sometimes speak vehemently when preaching to people and guiding them to the religious path. Alternatively, it could refer to the warriors who, whilst galloping on horses, ride into the battlefield.
